SSC Exam 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), in its official notification, has released the exam dates for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (Tier-II), and the Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination (Paper-II). The CHSL Tier 2 exam on April 10, 2026, and SSC JE Paper 2 on May 7, 2026 asper official announcement. 

These dates are important and awaited by candidates who have cleared the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam. Now that the dates are out, they can tailor their exam preparation accordingly.

SSC Exam 2026: How To Check SSC Dates?

To download the exam dates, candidates can follow the given steps.

Step 1: Go to the SSC official website at ssc.gov.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the SSC Exams 2026 notice for JE, CHSL.

Step 3: The PDF will appear on the screen, having details of the exam dates.

Step 4: Download the PDF and read all the instructions carefully. 

SSC Exam 2026: CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

The CHSL Tier 2 paper is divided into four sections as follows:

1. Section I: Includes Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, and General Intelligence.

2. Section II: Covers English Language and Comprehension, along with General Awareness.

3. Section III: Computer Knowledge Test 

4. Section IV:  Skill Test or Typing Test

The Computer Knowledge Test and Skill Test are qualifying in nature. Candidates only need to pass these sections to be eligible for the further stages of the selection process. Failure in these two sections may result in disqualification. The final merit list will be prepared based on a total of 360 marks from the main sections of Tier 2.

SSC Exam 2026: JE Paper 2 Exam Pattern

For engineering students, JE Paper 2 is very important. It will have 100 objective-type questions carrying a total of 300 marks, to be completed in a duration of 2 hours. For each correct answer, candidates will get +1, while for incomplete responses, marks will be deducted. 

JE Paper 2 is further divided into three parts:

1. Part A: General Engineering (Civil and Structural)

2. Part B: General Engineering (Electrical)

3. Part C: General Engineering (Mechanical)

Based on marks obtained in this paper, candidates will be shortlisted for the final selection of candidates for Junior Engineer positions in various central government departments like CPWD, MES, and BRO.
