Tamil Nadu School Holiday News: The district collector has ordered all schools to remain closed tomorrow, December 20, 2023, in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu and the scheduled exams to be postponed due to heavy rainfall. Parents and students can contact the school administration for the status of Tamil Nadu school holidays.
"Tamil Nadu | A holiday has been announced in all schools and colleges of Tirunelveli district tomorrow (20th December). The exams that were to be held are also postponed: District Collector, Tirunelveli," reads the official tweet of news agency ANI.

Tenskasi, Thoothukudi, Tirunvaneli, and Kanyakumari districts of Tamil Nadu were placed under red alert by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The state had isolated heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfalls between December 18 and 19.

The Chennai Meteorological Department issued a forecast for moderate thunderstorms and lightning with moderate rainfall at isolated places over several districts of Tamil Nadu and Karaikal on December 19, at 7 am. The forecast department also predicted light rain in several regions of Tamil Nadu over the next three hours.
The continuous light to moderate rainfall that has been falling on southern Tamil Nadu since Saturday has made things difficult for people's daily lives and schooling activities. Even today December 19, schools in the districts of Kanyakumari and Tenkasi are closed.
