Teachers' Day 2023: On the occasion of Teachers' Day, which coincides with the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, President Droupadi Murmu of India will present the National Teachers' Award for the year 2023 to the deserving recipients. In a ceremony hosted by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, President Murmu will confer the awards at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

 

According to the media reports, this year, seventy-five educators from various regions of the nation have been chosen for the esteemed award. The purpose of this award is to recognise and applaud the exceptional contributions of teachers who have not only enhanced the quality of education but have also positively impacted the lives of their students through their unwavering dedication and commitment. Every recipient of the award will receive a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs 50,000, and a silver medal.

 

The National Teachers' Award has been expanded to encompass educators from the Department of Higher Education and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, according to a statement by the Ministry of Education. Among the 75 teachers chosen, 50 are from the school teacher, 13 belong to the realm of Higher Education, and 12 hail from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
