Albert Einstein is considered one of the greatest and most influential physicists of all time. Best known for developing the Theory of Relativity, he was considered one of the world's most brilliant minds. Einstein never took an IQ (Intelligence quotient) test. However, based on his records, researchers estimate his score to be around 160.
But even if Albert Einstein's IQ is considered to be 160, our younger generation has been shown to have even higher IQs than the physicist Albert Einstein. With this in mind, today we'll tell you about five young people whose IQs far exceed this mark, including Indian children. So, read the full story to learn about their names and their IQs.
What Is IQ?
IQ, or intelligence quotient, is a score from a standardized test developed by Alfred Binet that measures thinking abilities such as reasoning, problem-solving, and memory. It is used to compare a person's intelligence to others of their age. 100 is the average, and scores typically range between 85 and 115 (average). It was originally calculated by dividing mental age by chronological age (multiplied by 100), but is now determined through modern tests that compare results to a larger population.
While useful for education and recruitment, IQ tests measure specific cognitive skills and do not capture the full spectrum of human intelligence, such as creativity or emotional intelligence.
To gain a clearer understanding, let’s take a look at a table showcasing the distribution of IQ scores:
IQ Range | Classification |
|---|---|
| Less than 70 | Extremely Low |
| 70 – 84 | Borderline Intellectual Functioning |
| 85 – 114 | Average |
| 115 – 129 | Above Average |
| 130 – 144 | Gifted |
| 145 – 159 | Genius |
| 160 and above | Extraordinary Genius |
