NTA UGC NET Exam Date 2024: The UGC-NET June 2024 examination has been cancelled due to integrity concerns surrounding the test. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the exam in OMR (pen and paper) mode across multiple cities on June 18, 2024, in two shifts. Now, a fresh examination will be scheduled and announced separately, including details for obtaining a new admit card. The NTA will announce the new date and other details for the UGC NET June exam at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The UGC received a report on June 19, 2024, from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs, indicating possible compromises in the integrity of the UGC-NET June 2024 examination. In response to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of the examination process, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 examination.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will undertake a comprehensive investigation into the issue. This decision comes amidst significant controversy surrounding the NEET medical entrance exam regarding alleged irregularities.

As many as 11,21,225 candidates registered for the UGC NET June exam, with 9,08,580 candidates taking the exam. The attendance rate was 81 per cent, an increase from the 73.6 per cent recorded in the December 2023 edition of the exam. UGC NET serves as an eligibility test for assistant professorship, admission to PhD programs, and for granting Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
