UP Board 10th Exam 2024: The UP Board class 10th Maths exam concluded on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. There was a surprising absence of 1.33 lakh students from the exam. According to data provided by Dibyakant Shukla, the UP Board secretary, 1,33,945 students were absent during the first shift, while 12,894 students were absent during the second shift. This year, approximately 29 lakh candidates are participating in the UP Board High School exam.
In addition to the absentees, the board has also reported four cases of proxy candidates. According to the media reports, during the first shift of the exam, two proxies were apprehended in Gonda, and one each in Azamgarh and Shahjahanpur. Moreover, four examinees were caught engaging in unfair practices.
UP Board Exams 2024: Over 3 Lakh Students Absent On Day 1
According to media reports, on the first day of the exam, 16 per cent of students were absent. Out of the 29,43,786 candidates registered for the first shift, 2,03,299 (14 percent) were absent, while out of the 24,67,715 registered for the second shift, 1,30,242 (19 percent) were absent. In total, 3,33,541 candidates, accounting for 16.20 percent, were absent in both shifts.
To enhance the security of question papers, the Council of Secondary Education, Headquarters in Prayagraj, along with all five regional offices, introduced command and control rooms for the first time this year. These rooms facilitate online intensive monitoring of strong rooms and examination centers. Moreover, a command and control room was set up in Lucknow's Vidya Samiksha Kendra building specifically to supervise exam centers remotely.
