UP Education Department Fresh Guidelines: The Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch the second phase of the School Chalo Abhiyan from July 1 with the objective of ensuring that every school-age child is enrolled in educational institutions. The campaign will also focus on facilitating smooth transitions of students between different stages of schooling.

Additional Chief Secretary for Basic and Secondary Education Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma has issued instructions to all District Inspectors of Schools and Joint Directors of Education to implement the programme effectively and ensure the timely completion of various educational initiatives.

Headmasters Given Responsibility for Student Admissions

Under the second phase of the School Chalo Abhiyan, headmasters have been assigned the responsibility of ensuring admissions of all students moving from Class 5 to 6, Class 8 to 9, and Class 10 to 11. The initiative aims to prevent dropouts and guarantee that every child of school-going age remains connected with the education system.

Instructions Issued for Pending Projects and Infrastructure Development

The state government has directed officials to complete the transfer and adjustment process of government teachers in a transparent and time-bound manner. Pending payments under the Samagra Shiksha and PM SHRI schemes are to be cleared by June 30. Authorities have also been instructed to expedite projects under Project Alankar, the construction of new mini stadiums, and the development of 44 indoor mini stadiums.

Focus on Laboratories, Attendance and Academic Activities

Officials have been asked to verify laboratory equipment and ensure that all laboratories are fully functional. Schools have been directed to follow the academic calendar, conduct regular teaching and assessments, and maintain online attendance records. Parents of students who remain absent continuously will be contacted to encourage regular attendance. Programmes such as Dream Lab, Project Praveen and internship activities for B.Ed students will also continue.

Unsafe School Buildings to Be Declared Abandoned

Keeping the monsoon season in mind, authorities have been instructed to identify dilapidated school buildings and mark them with red signs. Such structures will be declared abandoned, and their use will be completely prohibited to ensure student safety. District Inspectors of Schools have also been directed to hold monthly virtual meetings with principals to review teaching, attendance and vocational education activities.
