UP Scholarship 2026-27: The Social Welfare Department has released the timetable for the scholarship scheme for the current academic session. Under the Pre-Matric (Classes 9-10) and Post-Matric (Classes 11-12) scholarship schemes operated for students of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, General category, Other Backward Class, and Minority categories, online registration and applications for new students can be submitted from August 11 to September 21.
Meanwhile, students under the renewal category will be able to apply from August 11 to 25. As per the schedule, master data will be uploaded on the online portal by recognised schools until August 5, following which District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) and concerned officials will verify it.

When Will The Marking Process Be Completed?
The marking process on the portal for private schools of the minority category will also be completed within this same period. For renewal category students, the process of online application and hard copy submission will continue from August 11 to 25, running parallel to the new applicant timeline.
What Is The School-Level Verification Timeline?
Biometric authentication, application verification, and forwarding at the school level will be carried out until August 30. Between August 31 and September 10, DIOS will verify the actual number of students, while scrutiny by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) will be conducted from September 11 to 17, forming a multi-stage verification chain before final approval.
When Will Students Receive The Scholarship Amount?
After this, the district-level committee will complete data locking, demand generation, and transfer of scholarship funds through PFMS in a phased manner by the end of October. If any application is found to contain errors or suspicious data, a separate schedule has also been fixed for its verification, re-scrutiny, and correction to ensure accuracy before disbursal.
Separate Timeline For New Category Students
For new category students, separate timelines have been fixed for submission of hard copies and required documents at the school, verification at the school level, certification by the District School Inspector, and scrutiny by NIC. Following verification, the scholarship amount will be transferred to the bank accounts of eligible students through PFMS in January 2027.
