UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 Guidelines

The UPSC has set strict guidelines for exam day. Here are essential points to keep in mind:

- Double-check Admit Card Details: Candidates should thoroughly verify the information on their admit card, including their name, photograph, and QR code. Any discrepancies should be immediately reported to the respective authority.

- Bring Admit Card and Valid ID: A printed copy of the admit card and the original photo ID mentioned on the card are mandatory for entry into the examination hall for each session.

- Unclear Admit Card Photos: Candidates whose admit card photographs are unclear or lack their name and date of photograph must bring a photo ID, two fresh passport-sized photographs (with name and date) for each session, and a signed undertaking.

- Strict Entry Timings: Entry into the exam venue will be closed 30 minutes before the scheduled start of each exam session. No entry will be permitted after the specified time.

- Caution with OMR Sheets: Care should be taken while filling out the OMR answer sheet to avoid errors. Any mistakes or omissions, especially with the roll number and test booklet series code, may result in disqualification of the answer sheet.

- Negative Marking: A penalty system (negative marking) is in place for incorrect answers marked in both papers.

- Pen Requirement: Only answers written with a black ballpoint pen will be considered valid for evaluation.
