UPSC Launched New Portal: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the launch of a new online portal for candidates to make the online application process easier and structured for the competitive examination. According to the guidelines issued by the UPSC, candidates need to fill up application forms and upload their necessary documents in the newly introduced portal afresh.

Aadhar Card for Verification Purpose:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has advised candidates to use their Aadhaar Card as an ID document in the Universal Application for easy identification for seamless verification purposes. The commission mentioned that following this will serve as a permanent and common record for all examinations.

What’s new in the Portal?

The newly launched portal is structured into four key elements and modules to simplify the application journey in a more efficient manner:

1. Account Creation: the candidates must note down that it is important for them to set up a user account before accessing other sections in the online portal.

2. Universal Registration: This particular section gathers all the general details of the candidates that remain constant across various UPSC examinations.

3. Common Application Form: In this section, candidates can input shared information applicable to multiple examinations, with flexibility to update.

4. Examination Section: In this section, candidates will be able to see active notifications, exam-specific notifications and application forms, and real-time application status updates. It’s where candidates submit their final details for each examination.

By launching the new portal and dividing these processes into different stages, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) wants to avoid last-moment rushes and help aspirants in completing key steps well in advance of notification deadlines.

Old OTR module not applicable:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has asked all the aspirants to fill up the application form and upload the required documents in the newly introduced portal afresh through the website upsconline.nic.in.
