NEET UG Counselling 2026: The announcement of the NEET result 2026 on July 16, 2026, brought huge relief to over 20 lakh aspirants who appeared for the NEET G Entrance Examination 2026 on June 21. Qualified candidates will now be eligible to register for the NEET counselling process for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and allied medical courses. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will soon announce the counselling dates on its official website. The process will include online registrations, choice filling, seat allotment, and document verification. NEET Counselling 2026 Expected Timeline
NEET counselling is a centralized process through which eligible candidates get admission to medical and dental colleges based on their NEET score, All India Rank (AIR), reservation category, seat availability, and college preferences.
While the exact counselling dates are still awaited, here’s an expected timeline based on previous years’ exam trends.

MCC Counselling Covers AIIMS, JIPMER, and Deemed Universities
The counselling will be held separately for the seats reserved by MSS and State Counselling Authorities. Candidates applying for admission through MCC will have to register separately through the MCC counselling portal.
MCC Counselling will include:
15% All India Quota seats,
AIIMS institutions,
JIPMER campuses,
Central Universities, and
Deemed Universities
State Counselling Will Decide Majority of Government Seats
The respective State Council Authorities will fill the remaining 85% of seats. Students are advised to monitor their respective state counselling websites carefully. State counselling registration does not automatically include MCC counselling and vice versa. Candidates willing to participate in both AIQ and State Quota need to meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.
