Bengaluru Lok sabha Election 2024 LIVE Updates: Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka will witness voting in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, which kicks off in the Country today, April 26. All four Lok Sabha seats in Bengaluru, namely Bengaluru South, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru Central, and Bengaluru Rural, are gearing up for voting. Among the 14 out of 28 constituencies which will go to polls today. In Bengaluru North, the prominent candidates are Shobha Karandlaje from the BJP and MV Rajeev Gowda from the Congress. For Bengaluru South, Tejasvi Surya is contesting from the BJP, while Sowmya Reddy represents the Congress. PC Mohan from the BJP and Mansoor Ali Khan from the Congress are competing in Bengaluru Central. In Bengaluru Rural, DK Suresh is the candidate for the Congress, and Dr CN Manjunath represents the BJP.
In the previous 2019 elections, the BJP secured three out of four Bengaluru Lok Sabha seats, while the Congress won Bangalore Rural. PC Mohan, DV Sadananda Gowda, and Ananth Kumar emerged as the winners from Bangalore Central, Bangalore North, and Bangalore South, respectively. The BJP aims to maintain its dominance in the state, having won 25 out of 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in 2019. The Congress and JD(S) alliance managed to secure only two seats. The voter turnout in the state during the last elections was 68.81 per cent, with the BJP receiving a 51.38 per cent vote share, while Congress and JD(S) trailed behind with 31.88 per cent and 9.67 per cent respectively.

12:00 PM: During a polling event in Jumbo Savari Dinne at J.P. Nagar 8th Phase in Bengaluru on April 26, a woman in her mid-fifties collapsed after complaining of giddiness. Dr. Ganesh Srinivasa Prasad, a nephrologist at Narayana Health, administered timely CPR, suspecting low blood pressure. The woman regained consciousness after a minute and was attended to by polling officials and later assessed by medical personnel.
