MAYAKONDA is one of the 224 Legislative Assembly constituencies of the poll-bound Karnataka and comes under the Davangere district of the state. It is known for its architectural beauty and famous ancient temples.
The Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for the 224 constituencies will be held on May 10, 2023, and the counting for the high-stake polls will be held on May 13, 2023. The winning party should win as many as 113 seats out of the 224 seats to form the government in the state.
Mayakonda Assembly Election 2023: Key Contests
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Basavaraja Naik from the seat and denied the ticket to N Linganna who won the seat during the 2018 assembly polls.
The grand old party has once again fielded KS Basavaraju Bhadravati who was the runner-up from the seat in the 2018 assembly polls. Meanwhile, the Janata Dal (Secular) has fielded Anandappa from the seat.
Mayakonda Assembly Election 2018 Results
During the 2018 Karnataka Assembly election, N Linganna of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the seat by defeating KS Basavaraju of the Congress party by a margin of 6,458 votes.
N Linganna of the BJP received 50,556 votes and the voting rate was 33 per cent. While KS Basavaraj of the Congress was the runner-up in the elections with 44,098 votes.
