THE ELECTION Commission of India has announced the Karnataka Assembly election on May 10, and the result of the polls will be announced on May 13.
Raichur Rural is an assembly constituency in poll-bound Karnataka that is a part of the Raichur district.
This assembly seat was won by Basanagouda Daddal of the Indian National Congress (INC), who defeated Tipparaju Hawaldar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2018 by a margin of 9,964 votes.

In the 2023 Assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Tipparaju Havaldar as their candidate, while the Congress has chosen Basanagouda Daddal as their candidate, and the new entrant Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has chosen Dr.Subashchandra Sambaji as their candidate for the polls.
Raichur Rural Assembly Election (2018)
In 2018, Basanagouda Daddal of the BJP emerged as the winner by securing 66,656 votes against the Congress' Tipparaju Hawaldar, who secured second place with a total vote of 56,692. The Congress candidate won the seat by a total vote margin of 9,964 votes. Third place in the 2018 polls was grabbed by Ravi Kumar Patil of the JD (S), who had secured 34,250 votes.
In 2013, Thipparaju won the seat on the BJP ticket by a margin of 3270 votes against INC candidate Raja Rayappa Malik, who had secured 47,227 votes. In 2008, Raja Rayappa Naik won this assembly seat on the Congress ticket against JD(S) candidate Raja Rayappa Naik.
In this assembly constituency, there are a total of 2,28,241 voters, which includes general voters, NRI voters, and service voters. Among the general voters, 1,11,956 are male and 1,16,206 are female and 65 others.
