Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Updates: Amid a scorching heatwave, the BJP's top leadership will continue its campaign for the Lok Sabha polls on Thursday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi slated to hold two rallies -- one each in Haryana and Punjab. He will address the day's first public meeting in Haryana's Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, which goes to the polls along with other state's nine seats in the sixth phase on May 25. The campaigning in Haryana will end today evening.
Later, he will address an election rally at Patiala in Punjab where the polls will be held on all 13 seats on June 1, along with the lone seat of Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana. Meanwhile, farmers in Punjab would show black flags to PM Modi during his visit to the state.
Earlier on Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, "If the Opposition INDIA bloc comes to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it will dispose of the Agnipath scheme into the dustbin."

Maharashtra Govt Writes To EC Demanding Relaxation In LS Poll Code Due To Drought
The Maharashtra Government has written a letter to the Election Commission (EC) requesting a relaxation in the code of conduct applied in the state during the Lok Sabha elections. This letter comes in view of the dire situation in drought-affected regions.
The government in the letter urged the EC to relax the code of conduct and initiate immediate relief measures, including the provision of drinking water and fodder to citizens and animals in affected regions.
