Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the BJP will be limited to 150 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, adding that the grand old party was improving across the country. He said he earlier thought BJP could win around 180 seats but now he thinks they will not go beyond 150. Rahul made this remark in a joint press conference with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. The two leaders of the INDIA bloc were in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad to support Congress’s candidate Dolly Sharma.

"I do not do prediction of seats. 15-20 days ago I was thinking BJP would win around 180 seats but now I think they will get 150 seats. We are getting reports from every state that we are improving. We have a very strong alliance in Uttar Pradesh and we will perform very well," the Wayanad MP said.

Responding to a question on contesting the Amethi seat, Rahul said he would comply with the decision taken by the party's high command in this regard.

On BJP’s Pariwarwaad jibe at the Opposition party, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav asked the BJP to take a resolution to neither give a ticket to 'pariwar wale' nor take votes from 'pariwar wale'. He also said BJP will be gone in 2024 election.

The INDIA bloc has fielded Dolly Sharma of the Congress as its candidate from Ghaziabad parliamentary constituency while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded sitting MLA Atul Garg as its candidate.
