Madhya Pradesh Election Results 2023: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is racing towards a landslide victory in Madhya Pradesh, maintaining a lead in over 165 out of the 230 Assembly seats, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s wife Sadhna Chouhan, was seen hugging party’s women workers and supporters outside the chief minister’s official residence in Bhopal.

After the BJP crossed the majority mark, excited party workers erupted in celebrations outside the chief minister’s residence, bursting firecrackers, beating dhols, and exchanging garlands and sweets.

Meanwhile, CM Shivraj Chouhan also thanked the people of the state and rejected the anti-incumbency wave in the state. "No anti-incumbency wave was there in Madhya Pradesh. There is a pro-incumbency wave in Madhya Pradesh. I thank the people of MP and promise everyone that we will fulfil our guarantees,” Chouhan said.

The chief minister dedicated his victory to the ‘Ladli Behnas’ and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "I dedicate this win to our Ladli Behnas and PM Modi. We will take Madhya Pradesh forward on the path of progress and development,” Shivraj said.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia who joined in the celebrations said that the welfare schemes of Shivraj Chouhan-led government led to BJP’s success in the state. He emphasised that the ‘Ladli Behna’ scheme turned out to be a game changer.

"We knew that as far as Madhya Pradesh is concerned, given the public welfare schemes of our double engine government - people's blessings will be with us... I am confident that their blessings will be with the BJP and we will form the government with absolute majority," he told reporters.

“Ladli Behna scheme is a game-changer and the full credit for it goes to Shivraj Singh Chouhan," he added. Madhya Pradesh went to polls on November 17 in a single phase. To win the elections in the state, a party needs to clear the majority mark of 116 seats.
