Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2023: Rewa assembly constituency is one of the 230 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Madhya Pradesh state where the electoral bugle has sounded. Considered as a rural seat, it falls in Rewa district and Rewa Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. It comes under Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh and will go to the election on November 17.

With a total of 2,04,334 voters, including 1,08,028 male voters and 96,298 female voters, Rewa has been a key focus in the electoral landscape. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Rewa witnessed a voter turnout of 66.35%. In 2013, the turnout was 62.95%, and in 2008, it stood at 60.63%.

For the 2023 assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Rajendra Shukla as its candidate, while the Congress has put forward Rajendra Sharma to contest the seat.

Rewa Assembly Elections 2018

In 2018, Rewa saw Rajendra Shukla of the BJP emerge victorious, securing a total of 69,806 votes. The Indian National Congress candidate, Abhay Mishra, stood second with a total of 51,717 votes, trailing by 18,089 votes.

Rewa Assembly Elections 2013

In the 2013 elections, Rajendra Shukla again secured victory for the BJP, amassing a total of 61,502 votes. The Bahujan Samaj Party candidate, Krishna Kumar Gupta (K K), trailed with 23,956 votes, facing a significant margin of 37,546 votes.

Rewa Assembly Elections 2008

In 2008, Rewa witnessed Rajendra Shukla of the BJP winning the seat with a total of 43,140 votes. The Bahujan Samaj Party candidate, Dr. Abdul Mujib Khan Advocate, secured 17,030 votes, losing by a margin of 26,110 votes.

As the election day approaches on November 17, Rewa's electorate is preparing to cast votes. The results of the election will be unveiled during the vote counting, scheduled for December 3.
