Manipur, Assam, Uttarakhand Live Election News: Voting for Lok Sabha Election 2024 commenced on Friday. This is the first phase of polling to take place with six other phases remaining. The Phase 1 voting will cover 102 constituencies across 21 states. This copy will bring to you live updates of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 from the states of Manipur, Assam and Uttarakhand. Manipur will witness voting for the constituencies of Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur while in Assam the seats including Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kaziranga, Lakhimpur, and Sonitpur will see polling. All five seats in the hill state of Uttarakhand, Tehri Garhwal, Garhwal, Almora, Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar, Haridwar, will be taking part in the electoral process on Friday.
The key parties contesting in Manipur which has been embroiled in ethnic clashes, include the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Naga People's Front (NPF) as a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with Congress in the opposition. In Assam, the key candidates in the fray are Congress' deputy leader in the Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi, contesting from Jorhat; former Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, contesting for BJP from Dibrugarh and Ranjit Dutta for BJP and Prem Lal Ganju for Congress in Sonitpur.

15:50 PM: The voter turnout was recorded at 60.70 percent for Assam till 3:00 PM.
15:40 PM: The voter turnout was recorded at 45.62 per cent for Uttarakhand till 3:00 PM.
15:30 PM: The voter turnout was recorded at 63.03 percent for Manipur till 3:00 PM.
14:05 PM: Uttarakhand records 37.33 per cent voter turnout till 11:00 PM.
13:50 PM: Manipur records 46.92 per cent voter turnout till 1:00 PM.
13:40 PM: Assam records 45.12 per cent voter turnout till 1:00 PM.
13:20 PM: In another instance in Manipur, armed miscreants reportedly enetered a polling booth in Imphal East's Khongman and engaged in proxy voting.

12:30 PM: Manipur Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Voting News: With voting underway, Manipur which has been troubled with ethnic clashes, witnessed poll violence on Friday as miscreats fired shots ouside a polling booth at Thamanpokpi under Moirang Assembly constituency in Inner Manipur, reported The Hindu.
11:45 AM: Assam records 27.22 per cent voter turnout till 11:00 AM.

10:40 AM: Congress candidate Pradeep Tamta casts his vote and says, "I appeal to all the voters of Almora to come out and vote in large numbers to strengthen our Democracy."
10:30 AM: Manipur Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Voting News: Chief Electoral Officer Pradeep Kumar Jha said that voting has been taking place normally since morning and people are coming in large numbers. "The morning shows the day, so the initial trends indicate that we are going to have a high voting percentage. People deployed for polling duty have been reporting that things are normal, nothing untoward has been reported so far," he said.
10:15 AM: Yoga Guru Ramdev and Acharya Bal Krishna cast their vote at a polling booth in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The duo has been facing a case of contempt for misleading advertisements of Patanjali's medicinal products.
9:50 AM: Assam Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Voting News: Assam recorded 11.15 per cent voter turn out in the morning.
9:46 AM: Uttarakhand recorded 10.54 per cent voter turnout initially in the morning. The voting for the Lok Sabha elections in the state are taking place in a singke phase.
9:40 AM: Manipur recorded over 11 per cent voter turnout till 9:30 AM.
9:35 AM: Manipur Lok Sabha Election 2024: After exercising his franchise, CM N Biren Singh said, "I am delighted today that the first phase of elections is being held and I can cast my vote. We have to make PM Modi the Prime Minister for the third time."

8:10 AM: Uttarakhand Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Voting News: With voting for Phase 1 underway, BJP candidate from Pauri Garhwal constituency Anil Baluni said, "It is the biggest festival of the world's largest democracy and today is the day of voting. There is no competition anywhere. In my lifetime I have not seen such a one-sided election. All the people have made up their minds 'Abki baar 400 paar." Congress has fielded party leader Ganesh Godiyal from the seat.
7:55 AM: In Assam's Dibrugarh Union Minister and BJP candidate from Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency, Sarbananda Sonowal said that people will happily participate in this voting process and alerted the Congress about "its condition". "They are going to get less seats than before," Sonowal said.
7:40 AM: As voting began for all five seats in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "'Pehle matdaan phir jalpaan'...Today is the mega festival of democracy. I appeal to everyone to cast their votes and choose a good government. 7:20 AM: Uttarakhand Health Secretary Dr R Rajesh Kumar has issued an order that all medical colleges and medical units in the state will remain open on Friday on the day of voting for the Lok Sabha elections.
