The Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) swept the 2023 Mizoram assembly elections, winning 27 out of 40 seats and defeating the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) which won only 10 seats. The ZPM is set to form the next government in the state with ZPM President Lalduhoma as the chief minister.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won two seats and the Indian National Congress (INC) only managed to win a single seat in the state legislative assembly. The majority of exit polls aired by news channels on November 30 failed to predict the ZPM's landslide victory.

The ZPM had secured eight seats in the 2018 Mizoram assembly elections, while the MNF had won 26 seats and the Congress had won five seats. The BJP had won one seat.
