Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023: Rajasthan is set to go to the polls to elect representatives for its 200-seat Legislative Assembly. Polling for the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly election will be held in a single phase on November 25. The counting of votes will commence on December 3 and official results are expected to be declared by December 5, as per the Election Commission.

Pilani Assembly Election 2023:

Pilani is one of the 200 Assembly seats in Rajasthan. The constituency falls under Jhunjhunu district and is currently represented by Congress party's JP Chandelia in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Pilani is a reserved constituency for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes.

Pilani Assembly Election 2018:

In the 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, Chandelia got elected as Pilani's MLA against a fray of candidates led by his closest competitor, BJP leader Kailash Chand. Chandelia got 84,715 votes, while 71,176 votes were cast in Kailash Chand's favour. The difference in their tallies translated to a sizeable 8.47% of the 1,59,865 valid votes polled.

The Pilani Assembly constituency in 2018 recorded a voter turnout of 69.44%, which failed to match the statewide turnout average of 74.72%. The polling day saw 1,59,596 people cast their votes on EVMs in Pilani. Out of all the eligible voters who participated in polling, 78,669 were women, while 80,927 were men.

In 2013, Pilani's electorate had chosen BJP's Sunderlal as their MLA over Chandelia, who emerged as the runner-up. Chandelia, an independent candidate that year, got 58,918 as against Sunderlal's 72,914 votes.
