Kollapur Assembly Election 2023: Congress Eyes Second Victory In Close Race With TRS

Telangana Assembly Election 2023: Kollapur is an assembly constituency in Telangana that falls under Nagarkurnool district. The elections in the assembly are all set to be held in or before December 2023. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to announce the dates of the election.

During the 2018 assembly elections, the Kollapur assembly seat was won by Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy of the Indian National Congress who defeated Jupally Krishna Rao of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi with a margin of 12,543 votes. The constituency is a stronghold of Congress, which has been ruling the region since 1957. Between 1967 and 2022, the seat was once won by TRS during the 2014 assembly election.

Kollapur Assembly Election 2014

Jupally Krishna Rao of TRS won the seat by a margin of 10,498 during the 2014 assembly election, defeating Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy, who is currently ruling the seat. While Jupally Krishna Rao got a total of 72,741, Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy could only secure 62,243 votes.

Jupally Krishna Rao, who won the 2009 assembly elections was then a Congress candidate.
