Highest Grossing Malayalam Movies On OTT: Malayalam cinema has been creating waves worldwide. The latest released Malayalam film Thudarum has set a new benchmark for the forthcoming films as Mohanlal-starrer became third highest-grosser Malayalam film after Manjummel Boys and L2: Empuraan. Here is the list of highest grossing Malayalam movies so far that you can watch on streaming giants like Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, Zee5, among others. The list has been curated based on conservative global box office estimates as reported by various sources. Take a look:

L2: Empuraan

Mohanlal’s Malayalam movie L2: Empuraan received rave reviews from fans and critics alike post its theatrical release. The movie has been directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy. It is the second instalment in the Lucifer trilogy starring Mohanlal, alongside an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, among others. The film raked in Rs 268.05 crores at the worldwide box office.

L2: Empuraan is now streaming on JioHotstar.

Manjummel Boys

Malayalam survival thriller movie Manjummel Boys has been written and directed by Chidambaram. The movie is based on a Guna Caves rescue in 2006, in the film, a group of friends from a small locality called Manjummel near Kochi, who decide to have a vacation in Kodaikanal, which is affected when one of them becomes trapped in the Guna Caves. It set several box office records for a Malayalam film, thereby emerging as the first film in the Malayalam cinema to earn more than ₹200 crore.

Manjummel Boys is now streaming on JioHotstar.

Thudarum

Thudarum is a 2025 Indian Malayalam-language family thriller film directed by Tharun Moorthy. The movie was produced by M. Renjith through Rejaputhra Visual Media and it stars Mohanlal and Shobana, alongside Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, Krishna Prabha in supporting roles. Thudarum has grossed Rs 228.92 crores at the worldwide box office.

According to Oneindia story, Thudarum would be available on OTT on May 23 or May 30. The movie will be available to stream on JioHotstar.

2018

2023 Indian Malayalam-language disaster film is based on the 2018 Kerala floods. The movie has been directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, who co-wrote the screenplay with Akhil P. Dharmajan. The film stars an ensemble cast consisting of Kunchacko Boban, Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Narain, Tanvi Ram, Aparna Balamurali, and Lal. 2018 went on to earn Rs 177 crore at the worldwide box office. The Goat Life

Aadujeevitham, aka The Goat Life, is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant laborer in the Persian Gulf. It stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, with Jimmy Jean-Louis and K. R. Gokul in pivotal roles. The movie basked in Rs ₹158.50 crores at the overseas box office.
