Among the most eagerly awaited films is the Malayalam movie Rekhachithram, which has been generating significant buzz. Additionally, Deva, starring the talented duo of Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde, is another upcoming release that has piqued the interest of movie enthusiasts. Other notable mentions include Sankranthiki Vasthunam, further adding to the diverse range of cinematic experiences that audiences can look forward to. Rekhachithram
Rekhachithram is a 2025 Malayalam mystery crime thriller film directed by Jofin T. Chacko. The film stars Asif Ali, Anaswara Rajan, and Mammootty, among others. The story revolves around Vivek, who investigates a suicide case in Malakkappara, leading to a missing person's case linked to a film shoot.
Rekhachithram will be available to watch online on Sony LIV from March 7, 2025.
Deva
Deva, an upcoming 2025 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film, is directed by Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under Roy Kapur Films. The film boasts a talented cast, including Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, and Pavail Gulati. Notably, Deva is a remake of Andrrews's 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, with a distinct climax. The project was officially announced in May 2023, with principal photography commencing in October 2023 in Mumbai and wrapping up by September 2024. The film's score is composed by Jakes Bejoy, who also contributed a song, while Vishal Mishra composed two additional songs. Furthermore, Amit Roy handled the cinematography, and A. Sreekar Prasad took care of the editing.
Deva will stream on Netflix in March 2025.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam
Sankranthiki Vasthunam, a 2025 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film, marks a notable collaboration between renowned director Anil Ravipudi and esteemed production house Sri Venkateswara Creations. This highly anticipated film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring the talented Venkatesh in the lead role, alongside the captivating Meenakshi Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rajesh.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam will stream on ZEE5 from March 1, 2025.
Thandel
Thandel, a forthcoming 2025 Indian Telugu-language romantic action thriller film, is penned and helmed by Chandoo Mondeti. Backed by Bunny Vasu under the esteemed banner of Geetha Arts, the film boasts a talented cast, including Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. Drawing inspiration from a real-life incident that transpired in 2018, Thandel recounts the harrowing tale of a fisherman from Srikakulam who was captured by Pakistani forces in international waters, weaving a captivating narrative that blends romance, action, and suspense.
According to reports, Thandel will stream on Netflix from March 2025.
Chhaava
Chhaava, a highly anticipated 2025 Indian Hindi-language historical action film, brings to life the remarkable story of Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire. Portrayed by the talented Vicky Kaushal, the film is an adaptation of Shivaji Sawant's acclaimed Marathi novel, Chhava. Netflix has secured the digital streaming rights for Chhaava. It will reportedly stream in April 2025.
Emergency
Emergency, a 2025 Indian Hindi-language historical biographical drama film, was directed and co-produced by Kangana Ranaut. The film is based on the Indian Emergency and stars Ranaut as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Although initially scheduled for release on September 6, 2024, it was postponed due to certification issues and eventually released on January 17, 2025, to mixed-to-negative reviews and underwhelming box office performance.
Emergency will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix starting March 17, 2025.
