Aditi Govitrikar was the first Indian to win Mrs. World in 2001. For the unversed, she was the only Indian supermodel who had training as a psychologist. The actress, who studied hard to get into medical, also worked for well-known brands in TV commercials. Almost two decades later Aditi Govitrikar played a mother of two teenage boys who defied convention by getting married again and giving life another shot in Netflix show, Mismatched. 

Aditi Govitrikar opened up about the risk of being stereotyped in the industry and the kinds of the role she wants to explore after playing a mother, during an exclusive conversation with Jagran English. 

Aditi Govitrikar admitted that, regardless of the role, there is always some hesitation. She said, "For example, if I play a negative role, then the question arises will I be typecast but that's a risk one needs to take as an actor. So when this role was offered, when I was chosen to play Rohit's mother's role that time I was like 'oh this is a role of a mother of a grown up child' but then I thought that Priyanka (Chopra) has played Rohit (Saraf) mother then, we've won in the same year etc etc, it should be okay."

Aditi Govitrikar further added, "My daughter is also you know she's also 23 now, so I think it's fine to start playing role of mother. But, yeah I don't only want to play mothers. I would love to play different roles whether its a lawyer or a doctor."

For those who don't know, Priyanka Chopra won Miss World, Lara Dutta won Miss Universe, and Dia Mirza won Miss Asia Pacific in the same year that Aditi Govitrikar became Mrs. India.

Aditi Govitrikar On Mismatched Sets, Rohit Saraf-Prajakta Koli And Her Role 

Aditi Govitrikar also recalled the time from the sets of Mismatched where everyone used to meet for dinner. She revealed that during those get together a lot of sharing, laughing and pulling each other's leg used to happen and that it was very fun working environment.

When asked who was the prankster on the sets of Mismatched, Aditi Govitrikar without a thought mentioned Rohit Saraf's name. She stated that he had a great sense of humour. The former Mrs World called Prajakta funny and cute.

We also asked Aditi Govitrikar how would she like to approach her character if and when the fourth season comes. She said, "I would definitely want a longer role because in season three I couldn't give them the date. My presence was lesser than season two in which I got married."

Aditi Govitrikar first gained recognition with her Bollywood debut in the 2002 movie 'Soch.' In addition, she has appeared in movies such as Hum Tum Aur Shabana, De Dana Dan, Bheja Fry, Paheli,and Baaz.
