Akanksha Dubey Death Case: After Samar Singh, Co-Accused Sanjay Arrested In Varanasi

After Samar Singh, co-accused Sanjay Singh has also been arrested in connection with the Akanksha Dubey suicide case. The Bhojpuri actress, 25, had died by suicide on March 26.

She was discovered dead in her hotel room in Varanasi, where she was shooting for her upcoming film Laik Hoon Main Nalaik Nahin. Despite a thorough search, no suicide note was found at the scene.

Sanjay and Samar Singh had been on the run since Akanksha’s death. While Samar was arrested on April 7 in Ghaziabad, Sanjay was held on April 12 at Varanasi's Goithaha underpass, in a joint operation by the crime branch and Sarnath police. An FIR had been registered against the duo by Akanksha’s mother, Madhu Dubey, for allegedly abetting her daughter’s suicide.

Madhu Dubey disclosed on March 21 that Sanjay Singh, who is Samar Singh's brother, had threatened to harm and kill Akanksha, a fact which the actress herself had conveyed to her over the phone.

After her shoot in Varanasi, Akanksha had checked into the Sarnath Hotel. Sadly, she was later found dead in her hotel room. Prior to dying by suicide, Akanksha had reportedly gone live on Instagram.

During the live session, she was seen crying uncontrollably and experiencing an emotional breakdown, although the reason behind it remains unknown. This incident occurred a few hours after her music video with Pawan Singh was officially released. Videos of her tearful Instagram Live have been widely circulated on social media.

According to the post-mortem report, there were no signs of food in Akanksha's stomach. No traces of alcohol have been found either. However, an unknown brown liquid measuring 20 ml was found in her stomach. Additionally, the mucous membrane of her stomach appeared to be choked, possibly due to some coercive substances. Furthermore, there were injury marks on her wrist.

The mystery now revolves around the identity and nature of the liquid found in her body, and whether it could have been the cause of the congestion in her stomach's mucous membrane.
