In an interview, Alia Bhatt also credited the artisans who worked hard to make the saree. She said, “So this is all hand embroidery. It’s taken, let me get this number right because it's extremely important when you talk about craftsmanship. One thousand nine hundred and five man hours (1,905) and a hundred and sixty-three (163) craftsmen, embroidery workers, everybody to make this garment.”
Alia made a mistake in her interview about the details of her saree. Despite saying ‘let me get it right,’ she misquoted the number of hours it took to create it. She stated 1,905 hours, but a post on her official social media revealed it actually took 163 workers 1,965-man hours to make the saree. Watch the video here:

Alia Bhatt also shared the clips from her Met Gala 2024 walk. She penned a heartfelt note in the caption and wrote, "It was a call to the Garden of Time - an ode to art and eternity. Timelessness is endless, and we acknowledge that things crafted with time and care, can last forever. In our journey for an Indian interpretation of this universal theme, the outfit took on a life of its own."
"Nothing embodies tradition and innovation like the saree; in the skilled hands of @sabyasachiofficial, this vision found its fullest expression. We looked to the past as a guide for the future, drawing inspiration from the timeless sophistication of Indian nobility. We focused on intricate craftsmanship, incorporating hand embroidery, precious stones, along with elegant beadwork and fringes, distinctive of the 1920’s fringe style. Our colour palette pays homage to nature’s beauty, echoing the earth, sky, and sea," Alia wrote.
