Allu Arjun is a proud father as his daughter Allu Arha has made her acting debut in 'Shaakuntalam'. Starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan in the lead role, Shaakuntalam has been released in theatres. Allu Arha had a cameo role in the film and a glimpse of it was shown in the trailer as well.

Giving best wishes to the Shaakuntalam team, Allu Arjun wrote, "All the best for #Shaakuntalam release. My best wishes for @Gunasekhar1 garu, @neelima_guna & @SVC_official for mounting up this epic project. My warmest wishes to my sweetest lady @Samanthaprabhu2. My Mallu brother @ActorDevMohan & the entire team."

He added, "Hoping you all like the lil Cameo by #AlluArha. Spl thanks to Guna garu for introducing her on-screen and taking care of her so preciously. Will always cherish this sweet moment."

Samantha recently revealed that she first rejected Shaakuntalam because she did not have the confidence to play the character.

"I had first said no because I was doing The Family Man 2, in which I had a real role. Since childhood, Disney has been my favourite genre. Irrespective of whether I am happy or sad, I would watch Disney films. So, I did not have confidence that I could play Shakuntala, a princess, a symbol of perfection," Samantha told PTI.

"I was scared. As you see, in the last three years, I have been taking on a lot of challenges. Then I spoke to the producer, Dil Raju, who had a lot of confidence (in me). I thought of taking it (up) as a challenge because it is my only chance to play a role that I dreamt of as a child," she added.

Apart from Samantha and Dev, the movie also stars Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta.

The movie revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata. Directed by Gunasekhar, the movie is set in the Kashyapa Kanumalu (Kashmir), the grandeur and splendour of Dushyant’s Puru Dynasty.
