The makers of the film Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, found themselves at the center of a legal battle due to an unintended consequence of one of the movie’s scenes. The scene in question shows Sai Pallavi's character, Indhu, sharing her phone number with Sivakarthikeyan's character, Amaran. However, the phone number displayed on screen belonged to a real-life individual, Vaageesan, a college student from Chennai. As a result, Vaageesan received an astonishing 4,000 calls from people who mistakenly believed the number to be that of Sai Pallavi's character.

In response to the unwarranted attention and distress caused by the movie Amaran, Vaageesan, the college student from Chennai, took legal action against the producers. Seeking compensation for the inconvenience and harassment he faced, Vaageesan filed a case demanding a substantial sum of Rs 1.1 crore. 

Although the case is still pending in court, the filmmakers have taken proactive steps to mitigate the issue. As a result, the phone number displayed in the film has been blurred, ensuring that Vaageesan's contact information is no longer visible to the public. This modification has been implemented in the version of the film currently streaming on Netflix.

The film stars Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, alongside Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, and Bhuvan Arora.
