Amitabh Bachchan's old letter praising actress Nimrat Kaur has resurfaced, sparking fresh conversations online as rumours of marital trouble between Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan swirl. In 2022, Amitabh Bachchan sent Nimrat Kaur a handwritten note lauding her performance in the social comedy-drama Dasvi, where she starred alongside Abhishek. Nimrat later shared this touching letter on her Instagram, along with a bouquet of flowers sent by Senior Bachchan. The letter has recently regained attention on social media, especially amidst ongoing reports linking Nimrat with Abhishek.
In his note, Amitabh Bachchan expressed sincere admiration for Nimrat’s role in Dasvi, writing, “We have hardly had any interactions or meetings. The last was a compliment I gave at a YRF event—for the Cadbury ad. But your work in Dasvi is exceptional—nuances, gestures, all! My deep admiration and congratulations. Love, Amitabh Bachchan.” Nimrat’s powerful role in the film clearly left a lasting impression on the legendary actor.

Nimrat shared her gratitude for this acknowledgment, reminiscing about her journey from aspiring actor to receiving appreciation from an icon like Amitabh Bachchan. Reflecting in her Instagram post, she wrote, “18 years ago when I set foot in Mumbai city, to imagine that Mr. Amitabh Bachchan would know me by my name, recall us meeting and him appreciating me in a television commercial, and years later send a note and flowers for something I attempted in a film—all would’ve been but a distant dream.”

In Hindi, Nimrat also expressed how deeply moved she was by Amitabh’s praise, writing, “Aaj Alfaz aur bhavnaye, dono kam pad rahi hai,” which translates to, “Today my words and emotions are both falling short.” She thanked him sincerely, saying his words and blessings would continue to inspire her throughout her life. Dasvi, which released on OTT in 2022, stars Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam in a unique social comedy that explores the importance of education. Dasvi is available for streaming on Netflix.
