Amitabh Bachchan recently shared an interesting story about his journey with Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) during the show's 25th anniversary celebration. The legendary actor revealed that his family initially had doubts about his decision to host the popular quiz show, even calling it a "big mistake."

When the idea of hosting KBC was first presented to Amitabh Bachchan, he was uncertain about how the show would work. To better understand the format, the production team arranged for him to visit the LC Studio in London, where the game was already being played. After seeing the energy and excitement of the setup, he told the KBC team that he would only agree to host the show if they could recreate the same atmosphere in India.

Reflecting on his early days on the show, Amitabh shared that he had no formal preparation. He recalled feeling nervous, with his legs shaking on the first day. Despite this, he decided to speak freely and let his instincts guide him. "The makers didn't notice my heartbeat, and the camera didn’t capture my legs shaking on the first day. I had no idea what was going to happen. I decided to speak whatever came to mind," he said.

Amitabh also opened up about his family's reaction when he announced his decision to take on the role of KBC's host. "When I told my family members that I was going to host KBC, I won’t name anyone, but some of them said, 'You are making a big mistake. People see you on the big screen, and now they'll see you on the small screen?'" Despite their concerns, Amitabh went ahead with the decision. Looking back, he said, "And here I am, sitting in this chair for the past 25 years."

Over the years, KBC has become a beloved part of Indian television, with Amitabh Bachchan at the helm. His connection with the audience and his ability to make the show engaging have made him an iconic figure in Indian television. The show’s silver jubilee was celebrated with heartfelt wishes from celebrities like Kajol, AR Rahman and his son Abhishek Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD, a sci-fi drama directed by Nag Ashwin. The film, which also starred Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, was a massive success, grossing over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide. Amitabh's portrayal of Ashwatthama in the film won hearts, adding another milestone to his illustrious career.
