Anil Kapoor is reportedly displeased with his elder brother and producer Boney Kapoor regarding the casting decisions for the No Entry sequel. The film, which released in 2005, featured an ensemble cast including Salman Khan, Anil, Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu, and Celina Jaitly. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the movie revolved around the complications that arise when three friends get involved in extramarital affairs and their efforts to conceal them from their respective spouses.
Now, Boney Kapoor has disclosed that Anil expressed a desire to be involved in the sequel, but unfortunately, 'there was no room' for him.
Anil and Boney's relationship
Anil Kapoor's relationship with his brother has been strained ever since details about the casting for the sequel to 'No Entry' were leaked online. The producer disclosed that before he could inform his brother, Anil, about the plans for No Entry 2, the news was leaked, causing him distress and leading Anil to express his frustration. Reports suggest that Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Arjun Kapoor are set to lead the sequel. Boney Kapoor further revealed that Anil Kapoor expressed a desire to be involved in the film, but due to the storyline's constraints, there wasn't any room for him. "Before I could tell my brother Anil about the No Entry sequel and the cast involved, he got angry as the news was already leaked. It was unfortunate that it was leaked. I know he wanted to be a part of the No Entry sequel, but there was no space. I wanted to explain why I did what I did," Boney told Zoom.
Explaining why he chose the abovementioned cast, Boney added, "Varun and Arjun are great friends. Their chemistry could come out in the story, and Diljit is massive today. He has a great fan following. I wanted to make it relevant in today’s time. That’s why I did this casting. In the process, my brother is still not talking properly. I hope it all gets sorted out soon. Let’s see."
The sequel to No Entry is scheduled to commence filming in December 2024, with plans for a grand theatrical release in 2025, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the original film.
