The Akkineni Nageshwara Rao (ANR) National Award has taken place in Hyderabad today. It marked the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi. The legendary South superstar was honoured with the prestigious award. On this occasion, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala made their first public appearance after their engagement in August. Not, only that the duo also clicked photos with their family members and the notable people from the industry. Sobhita looked ethereal in a green saree whereas Chaitanya opted for a formal suit. 

The event marks the 100th birth anniversary of Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR). Nagarjuna invited Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi to the award functions. 

On October 25, Nagarjuna Akkineni tweeted “This year is extra special as we celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of my father, ANR garu! Honoured to invite @SrBachchan ji and Megastar @KChiruTweets garu to the ANR Awards 2024 to mark this milestone! The event also captured some heartfelt moments including Chiranjeevi touching Amitabh Bachchan’s feet after receiving prestigious honour at ANR awards 2024. 

At the award function, Amitabh said “Amitabh said, “Namsakar. It is very difficult to stand here and say anything after what we have seen, heard and observed. I must express my extreme gratitude to Akkineni Nageswara Rao Foundation to give me this privilege to be here with all of you this evening. I express my gratitude to Akkineni Nageswara Rao for bringing to life that is seen on earth and give so much joy in entertainment and culture. Nag, to you and your family I want to express my gratitude for living up to the legacy that your respected father left all of us.”

“I am reminded of the poem my father wrote called Vasihatnama, which means the last will. In today's time the kind of life you are living, a son has to prove in court what his father has done. The line that I wish to say today is that, ‘Mere bete hone se mere utaradhikari nahi honge, jo mere itaradhikari honge wo mere bete honge You can't become my inheritor just because you are my son, my inheritors would be my true sons),” he added.
