Anurag Kashyap, known for his outspoken and candid views, recently faced accusations from actor Pankaj Jha, who claimed that the former had promised him the role of Sultan in 'Gangs of Wasseypur' but ultimately gave it to Pankaj Tripathi. Reports also suggested that the Panchayat actor had allegedly called Anurag spineless and timid for not keeping his promise. However, the actor denied making such comments against the filmmaker, asserting that his statement had been twisted.

While recalling the incident, Anurag told India Today, "I don’t remember what exactly happened. But we were shooting for The Girl in Yellow Boots and he had moved to Osho in Pune to paint. We were supposed to start shooting for Gangs of Wasseypur and he (Pankaj Jha) was not available. We were on a tight budget and could not wait for him. We made the film in a very different condition and budget. Now, he may be thinking after 20 years, he could have become Pankaj Tripathi."

"I have worked with him, and he has actually been my go-to actor. We worked in Gulaal and Black Friday. I would love to work with him again, but the fact is, he is not accessible at all," he added.

This isn't the first time, Anurag Kashyap has faced accusations before too. A few years ago, actor Abhay Deol labelled him as 'toxic'. Considering that the relationship between an actor and director is built on trust.
