Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap disclosed an incident involving Nana Patekar declining a pivotal role in Ridley Scott's acclaimed film, Body of Lies. Kashyap mentioned engaging in a conversation with Patekar, who expressed his inability to take on the character due to its portrayal as a terrorist, citing that it conflicted with his principles.

In an interview with Lallantop, Anurag Kashyap said, "Ridley Scott ka mail aaya tha. Unko Nana Patekar chahiye the Body of Lies ke liye, Mark Strong ke role ke liye. Main Nana ji ke paas gaya aur bola kya baat hai, unhone kaha ye terrorist ka role hai. Main ye nahi karunga" (I had once recieved a mail from director Ridley Scott, who wanted Nana Patekar to play Mark Strong's part in Body of Lies. But Nana ji turned down the offer, saying he wouldn't play a terrorist on screen)."

About Body Of Lies:

The 2008 American espionage thriller film, 'Body of Lies', helmed and produced by Ridley Scott, emerges as a narrative crafted by William Monahan. This compelling piece stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, and Golshifteh Farahani in prominent roles, delving into the intricate dynamics of the CIA and Jordan's GID as they strive to apprehend 'al-Saleem,' a terrorist figure, set against the backdrop of the Middle East. Complementing the stellar leads are Mark Strong and Oscar Isaac in supporting roles. The screenplay for this riveting tale draws inspiration from David Ignatius' 2007 novel of the same title.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Nana Patekar was last seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s 'The Vaccine War'. The film revolves around India's struggle against COVID-19, spotlighting the dedicated efforts of the medical sector to combat the worldwide pandemic.
