Music maestro AR Rahman recently performed at a concert in Chennai’s Adityaram Palace on September 10. The concert was attended by over 50,000 fans, which turned into a trauma for them. Raising concern on X (formerly known as Twitter), fans slammed the organisers for poor crowd management. Several women claimed on Twitter that they were molested during the concert which turned into a stampede situation. Children were disciplined in the crowd and people with valid tickets were not allowed to enter the venue due to overcrowding.
The concert was initially scheduled to take place on August 12, however, it was cancelled due to excessive rain in the area. It was then rescheduled to take place on September 10 and was attended by thousands of people. The organisers of the event, ACTC Events, were heavily slammed for overselling the tickets. Several parents lost their children in the crowd with no security to tackle the situation.

Adityaram’s head, who addressed the crowd towards the end of the concert, and from the team of the singer, also requested the event managers to organise the concert properly next time. Several fans took to X asking the singer to issue an apology statement regarding the mismanagement. The composer has not yet reacted to the situation.
