Arijit Singh enjoys a fanbase across the globe including commoners to celebrities as he knows how to entertain fans his with musical skills. Recently, during a music concert in Dubai, the singer surprised fans by revealing the name of a very popular guest. Thousands of people attended the singer's concert in UAE and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan was also one of them. Arijit announced her name from the stage and also apologised to her for not recognising her before. Soon after the announcement, the fans of both the artists went gaga over them. The video of the candid scene went viral on social media. 

While introducing Mahira Khan to the crowd, Arijit Singh said “You guys must be surprised, should I reveal. I should reveal in a very nice way. Can we have camera there. I have been trying to recognise this person, then remembered I have sung for her. Ladies and gentlemen Mahira Khan sitting right infront of me. Think about I was singing her song Zaalima and it’s her song and she was singing and standing and I couldn’t recognise her. I am so sorry. Maam gratitude and thank you so much.”

After the announcement, Mahira Khan was seen having a moment and then waved to her fans. Notably, Arijit Singh alongside Harshdeep Kaur lent their voice to Zaalima song, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan. The song was one of the hits in the movie Raees. The film also marked the Bollywood debut of the Pakistani actress. Since then she made a huge fan following in India as well. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, the 2017 movie earned Rs 300 crores at the box office and created a huge wave among the fans. 

On the other hand, talking about her personal life, Mahira Khan married for the second time to a businessman based in Pakistan named Salim Karim in October 2023. She was earlier married to Ali Askari and has a son named Azlan.
