Despite a promising opening day collection of ₹11.25 crore, the movie's earnings soon began to dwindle, signaling a downward trend. According to trade experts, by the eighth day of its release, Baby John had managed to collect a mere ₹35.4 crore, a far cry from the expectations surrounding this big-budget film. 

The writing was on the wall as daily earnings plummeted to a meager ₹1 crore, prompting many single-screen theaters to discontinue screening the movie. This swift decline in box office performance has effectively sealed the fate of Baby John, labeling it a box office bomb. Nevertheless, fans and viewers are still eagerly awaiting the film's OTT release. But, has Baby John’s OTT release delayed?

The uncertainty surrounding the OTT release of Baby John has sparked intense speculation among fans and industry insiders alike. Despite the film's underwhelming performance at the box office, many had been eagerly awaiting its digital debut, hoping to catch it on a popular streaming platform. However, the deafening silence from the producers and OTT platforms has raised eyebrows, fueling rumors that Baby John may not have found a buyer in the digital space. 

Typically, OTT platforms secure the rights to a film before its theatrical release, but in this case, there has been no official announcement or update regarding the movie's digital distribution. This unusual lack of clarity has led many to wonder if Baby John's poor box office showing has made it an unattractive proposition for OTT platforms, leaving its digital fate hanging in the balance.

About the movie

Baby John, a 2024 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Kalees, is a remake of Atlee's 2016 Tamil blockbuster Theri. The movie features Varun Dhawan in the titular role, alongside a talented ensemble cast, including Keerthy Suresh, who makes her Hindi film debut, Wamiqa Gabbi, Zara Zyanna and Jackie Shroff in pivotal supporting roles. The narrative revolves around Baby John, a single father who leads a seemingly ordinary life, running a restaurant called Toast on Coast in Alappuzha, Kerala, with his infant daughter Khushi by his side.

However, as the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that there is more to Baby John's persona than meets the eye, and his tranquil existence is gradually disrupted by the revelations of his troubled past.
