To this, several social media users criticized the filmmaker and wrote, “They may be ur friends sir, but the story line is completely male chauvinistic.” Another comment read, “dear Anurag, you are one of the rare quality directors. kindly don't promote regressive movies just because natty is your friend. he may be a good cinematographer. but he is a sanghi. this movie is regressive.”
“Seriously Anurag?! How could one celebrate the likes of Vetrimaran, Pa.Ranjith and also this patriarchal castiest movie, should be learned from you,” read another comment by a user on Anurag Kashyap’s post.
In an interview with Indian Express, lead actor of Bakasuran Selvaraghavan talked about facing difficulties while acting. “It’s really difficult. My brother (Dhanush) used to say that if you come before the camera, you will understand all the difficulties. Then, I never got it. When I started Saani Kaayidham, I realized how difficult it was to be in that mood,” the actor said.
