Baksho Bondi (Shadowbox), starring Tillotama Shome, will have its global premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. The Bengali movie, directed by Tanushree Das and Saumyananda Sahi, tells the tale of love, resiliency and the unwavering strength of Maya and is set in a peaceful Kolkata suburb.
Baksho Bondi (Shadowbox) has also been chosen to participate in Perspectives, a brand-new category honoring outstanding first-fiction movie from throughout the globe. Vikramaditya Motwane, the movie's producer posted a long Instagram statement expressing his joy over the development. He talked about how the team has been working on the movie for eight years and is now eager for the world to watch their labor of love.
The caption read, "Couldn’t be more thrilled to share that our labour of love ‘Shadowbox’ (‘Baksho Bondi’), directed by Tanushree Das @tanushree_skreenfilms and Saumyananda Sahi @somosahi, has been selected in the new Perspectives Competition at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival.
It further read, "Set against the backdrop of a dusty Kolkata suburb, Shadowbox is a powerful narrative of love, resilience, and the quiet strength of a working woman - Maya."

Adding to the hype, the movie's makers recently released the suspenseful teaser.
Baksho Bondi (Shadowbox) Cast And Plot Details
In addition to Tillotama Shome, the movie's ensemble cast is outstanding and includes Suman Saha as Ripon, Sayan Karmakar as Debu and Chandan Bisht as Sundar.
According to the synopsis provided by Berlinale, Maya discovers that her husband, an ex-soldier who is suffering from PTSD, is the prime suspect in a murder investigation in Baksho Bondi. To keep the family together, she and her teenage son must resort to drastic measures.
