The makers of the Telugu family drama film Balagam have locked the film’s OTT release date. Starring Priyadarshi, Kavya Kalyanram, Sudhakar Reddy and Muraleedhar Goud in the lead roles, the film has been written and directed by Venu Yeldandi.

The plot of Balagam is: Komurayya, an old man who lives with his son Ailayya and grandson Saayilu. The grandson is in a lot of debt and decides to get married to clear the debts with the dowry. Things change when Komurayya`s passes away three days before his engagement. His family comes to town for the last rites but fails to satisfy Komurayya`s soul. Could his family members meet his needs?

Balagam will be streaming on OTT giant Prime Video this week. The film will begin streaming on March 24, 2023.

Before the theatrical release of Balagam, megastar Chiranjeevi felicitated the entire team of the film. The actor invited producer Dil Raju, Harish to actors Priyadarshi, Kavya Kalyanram and director Venu Yeldandi of the film and congratulated them.

A video was shared by the production house of the film on their Twitter handle. In the video, Chiranjeevi can be heard calling the film ‘honest’. The star met the crew of Balagam on the sets of his upcoming film Bholaa Shankar.

In the video, Chiranjeevi can be heard saying, “How can you shock us like this? From the first frame to the ending, the Telangana nativity in the film is beautiful and it felt like a trip down the memory lane. I remember watching him perform oggu katha, burra katha on the show Jabardasth and my respect for him grew ever since. Despite having a big producer at the helm, Venu has managed to stand out.”

Also starring Sudhakar Reddy, Roopa, Muralidhar Goud, Racha Ravi and Venu Yeldandi, Balagam received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike and worked well at the box-office.
