Bollywood actor Bhumika Chawla, who was recently seen playing Venkatesh Daggubati’s wife in Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, has been a popular face in the Hindi film industry. The actor became a household name after the super success of Salman Khan’s Tere Naam, where she played his love interest.
Over the years, Bhumika Chawla was seen in less number of films despite having many successful films in her kitty. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that she was signed on to play ‘Geet’ in ‘Jab We Met’, which was eventually played by Kareena Kapoor Khan. The role became a cult classic and Kareena’s portrayal got her all the big awards of the season.
Speaking about being replaced in ‘Jab We Met’, Bhumika Chawla revealed, “I got many offers after Tere Naam. I've always been selective and choosy about what I do. I had signed a big film after it, but unfortunately the production changed, the hero changed, the film title changed. Then the heroine was changed too. But if I would have done that it would have been different.”

The actor further spoke about how the casting of ‘Jab We Met’ was changed many times. “The only time I felt bad was when I signed Jab We Met and it didn't happen. I was the first one, Bobby Deol and I, when it was called Train. Then, it was Shahid Kapoor and I, and then Shahid and Ayesha Takia, and then Shahid and Kareena Kapoor. That’s how things happened but it’s okay,” Bhumika Chawla said in the conversation.
The actor, who was also a part of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s biopic ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, also revealed that she has signed Sanjay Dutt’s Munna Bhai MBBS, but even that film didn’t happen. “I only felt bad once and then never again because I just moved on. I don't think much about it. I had signed up for Munna Bhai MBBS but it didn’t happen.”
