New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The Mudassar Aziz directorial Pati Patni Aur Woh has shown promising start at the domestic box office in opening two days of its release. After opening with an earning of Rs 9.10 crore, the film added nearly Rs 12 crore (as per early estimate) on day 2. On Friday, it had emerged as the highest engrossing movie of Kartik Aaryan of his career, surpassing Luka Chuppi that had raked Rs 8.01 crore on day 1. The 1978 remake with the same name has been termed as a patchwork for the old. The performance of the star cast has been widely praised in the film.
 
It tells the story of Chintu Tyagi (portrayed by Kartik), his wife Vedika Tripathi (Bhumi) and Tapasya (Woh, played by Ananya). After three years of marriage Chintu Tyagi's, his romance takes a back seat which is rekindled after the entry of Tapasya. It depicts the bond of trust between husband and wife with a pinch of comedy.  
 
The periodical drama Panipat, on the other hand, earned Rs 4.12 crore on opening day at the box office and followed it with roughly Rs 6 crore on Saturday (suggests early estimates). The Arjun Kapoor-starrer that also features Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, is set in the 18th century and depicts the third battle of Panipat between Maratha empire and Afghan king Ahmed Shah Abdali. 
 
 
Meanwhile, Multi-starrer Pagalpanti reportedly managed to earn Rs 88.36 crore till Friday. The story revolves around three men who are considered unlucky. Their luck changes after they get hired by a king in London to recover his losses. The Anees Bazmee directorial features John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Ileana D'Cruz and Urvashi Rautela. 
 
Action thriller Commando 3 managed to engross Rs 29.61 crore till Friday. The film, however, had a lukewarm performance after the release of the above two movies. The Aditya Dutt directorial features Vidyut Jammwal in the lead role. Other stars include Adah Sharma, Angira Dhar and Gulshan Deviah. The film revolves around Karanveer Singh Dogra (played by Jammwal), who protects his country from a terror attack.
