Boycott Abir Gulaal trends: In a horrifying turn of events, 26 tourists were shot dead in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on Tuesday afternoon. The attack took place in Baisaran Valley, also known as ‘mini Switzerland’. As tourists had gathered in the valley- some for their honeymoon, while others for a vacation, a group of terrorists opened fire on them. In the aftermath of the deadliest Pahalgam terror attack, the upcoming release of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s movie Abir Gulaal in India, has sparked a heated debate online with Twitterati calling for the film’s boycott.

A tweet read, “After the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam where Hindu tourists were killed based on their identity, it's time to send a strong message.The upcoming film Abir Gulal, starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and @Vaaniofficialand set to release in India on May 9, must not be allowed to release.No more double standards in the name of art.”

Another tweet read, “This Movie should not get a single audience in theaters!!Boycott such actors. Their greed for work and money has always shamed us as a nation. They stand with anything but nation in the name of Art!Bycott #AbirGulaal.”

A tweet read, “The Paki actor Fawad scared for his movie is putting sympathetic posts.The movie Abir Gulal should not be released. All Paki actors should be banned.”


About the movie: The upcoming Hindi romantic movie, Abir Gulaal, has been directed by Aarti S and backed by Vivek B. Agrawal. The movie stars Vaani Kapoor and Fawad Khan in lead roles and is scheduled to hit the theatres on May 9, 2025. Apart from Vaani and Fawad, Abir Gulaal also stars Soni Razdan, Lisa Haydon, Ridhi Dogra and Farida Jalal. The story revolves around two individuals who find love and healing in each other's company.
