BTOB, the K-pop boy group, has returned with romantic and mellow love songs which give people a feeling of a spring breeze that makes their hearts flutter.

BTOB released their 12th EP titled "Wind and Wish" on Tuesday. This is their first release since March last year, when they dropped their third full-length album "Be Together."

The group's new album, "Wind and Wish," contains five tracks with titles like "Heaven," "Day & Night," "Moon Ride," "Your Love," and the album's eponymous title track. The band aimed to spread positivity and happiness through their music and to convey this message to their loved ones and to the world.

BTOB's new song "Wind and Wish" is a mixture of ballad and dance elements that is characteristic of the band's style. The song cleverly utilises a Korean word that can mean both "wind" and "wish."

"I thought love is wishing for someone's happiness and good luck," said Lim Hyunsik, who has co-composed and co-written the song, during a press conference for the album at a Seoul hotel, Yonhap news agency reported.

"I wanted to use the dual meaning of the Korean word for 'wind' to portray a speaker who hopes the gentle breeze will carry his wishes for the happiness of someone special."

Since its debut in 2012, BTOB has released three full-length albums, 14 EPs, and several popular singles such as "Way Back Home," "Remember That," and "Missing You" during its more than 10-year-long career. The band made a comeback as a whole group a year ago after a break of almost four years due to the mandatory military service of its members.

In South Korea, all physically capable men are required to complete mandatory military service lasting approximately two years due to the country's continuous security concerns related to North Korea. However, during the press event for BTOB's latest release, the group's main dancer Peniel was unable to attend due to a back injury that he had suffered a few days back.

Lim expressed his wish that the songs from the album will have a positive impact on a large number of people and that their aspirations will be fulfilled.

Yook said, "We have repeatedly said that we want to take our place in the global market as a leader of K-pop ballad in our own style. I wish the world will get to know of this sort of new genre called K-pop dance-ballad."
