The 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) is set to shine a spotlight on BTS RM with the screening of his highly anticipated documentary, Right People, Wrong Place. The film, directed by Lee Seok-joon, was officially invited to the prestigious festival, which will take place from October 2 to 11, 2024. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul on September 3.

Right People, Wrong Place offers an intimate glimpse into RM's life during the eight months leading up to his military enlistment, a period that coincided with the production of his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person. The documentary captures the emotional and creative journey of the BTS leader, showcasing the personal struggles and growth he experienced in his late twenties as he prepared to fulfil his mandatory military service.

After the first screening of the movie at the Busan International Film Festival, the movie will be available for viewing in theatres worldwide. The official movie release date and ticketing schedule will be announced later, as mentioned in the official notice posted on Weverse.

The film has been selected for the Open Cinema section of BIFF and will be screened at an outdoor theatre, offering fans and film enthusiasts alike the opportunity to experience RM's story in a unique and immersive setting. With a duration of 80 minutes, the documentary promises to delve deep into the artistic process behind RM's solo work, featuring personal anecdotes and reflections that reveal the man behind the music.

Right Place, Wrong Person, RM's second solo album, was released in May 2024 and includes tracks such as LOST!, Come Back To Me and Groin. The album received widespread acclaim for its introspective lyrics and mature themes, resonating with fans around the world. The documentary, however, takes a slightly different approach by tweaking the title to Right People, Wrong Place, perhaps to emphasize the broader narrative of RM's journey and the people who influenced him during this pivotal time in his life.

ARMYs, the dedicated fanbase of BTS, are eagerly anticipating the release of this documentary, as it offers a rare glimpse into RM's personal and professional life. The film is expected to shed light on the challenges he faced while balancing his responsibilities as a global superstar with his desire for personal growth and creative expression.

RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, enlisted in the South Korean military in December 2023, alongside his bandmates V, Jimin and Jungkook. The enlistment marked a significant moment for BTS, as the group temporarily paused their activities to fulfil their national duties. With Jin's discharge in June 2024 and Jhope's upcoming discharge in October 2024, the anticipation for BTS' reunion in 2025 continues to build among fans.
