BTS SUGA, also known as Min Yoongi, is set to appear for police questioning on August 22 in connection with a drunk driving incident involving an electric scooter, as per an Allkpop report. The incident, which occurred on August 6 in the Hannam-dong area of Yongsan District, Seoul, involved SUGA allegedly operating the scooter while under the influence of alcohol. Reports indicate that his blood alcohol level was 0.227%, well above South Korea's legal limit of 0.08%, which leads to license revocation.

SUGA, who is currently serving as a social worker in the South Korean military, has coordinated his schedule to attend the investigation. However, he is expected to make a private entry, avoiding any media appearances for a photo op. This decision aligns with his ongoing reflection on the situation, as he has publicly apologized and taken full responsibility for his actions.

Electric scooters in South Korea are classified as "motorized bicycles" under the Automobile Management Act, making it illegal to operate one while intoxicated. SUGA now faces legal consequences under the Road Traffic Act, which considers such actions a criminal offence.

The situation garnered further attention after DongA Ilbo released CCTV footage on August 14 showing SUGA navigating unsteadily on the sidewalk before falling off his scooter. The footage led to public confusion, which was later addressed by a K-media outlet on August 16, issuing a public apology for airing incorrect information. BIGHIT MUSIC, BTS' label, confirmed the incident and assured fans that they are taking steps to prevent future occurrences.

Despite the incident, SUGA continues to receive overwhelming support from ARMYs, who have been trending lyrics from his songs, such as Snooze and Nevermind, as a show of solidarity. Meanwhile, there were reports of flower wreaths being placed outside the HYBE building, calling for SUGA’s withdrawal from BTS. However, the fanbase remains united in supporting him during this challenging time.
