The sudden passing of actress Kim Sae Ron last month has led to the resurgence of dating rumors involving her and renowned actor Kim Soo Hyun. The tragic event that took Kim Sae Ron's life was ultimately ruled a suicide by officials. However, the rumours surrounding her alleged relationship with Kim Soo Hyun have once again come to the forefront. In response to these allegations, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, has officially denied any romantic involvement between the two actors.
The rumours initially surfaced through a YouTube channel called Garosero Research Institute, also known as HoverLab Inc. The channel claimed that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had been in a romantic relationship for six years, with their alleged involvement beginning when Kim Sae Ron was just 15 years old. The channel further asserted that these claims had been verified through communication with Kim Sae Ron's parents, even including a phone interview with one of her family members in a video released on March 10.
In a swift response to these allegations, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, threatened to take legal action against the YouTube channel for spreading false information. Interestingly, Garosero Research Institute is the same channel that previously made headlines for accusing BTS members V, Jungkook, Jimin, Jhope, RM, Suga and Jin of being involved in a drug case. At the time, the channel had released a video claiming that certain members of the Kpop group were frequent visitors to a hostess bar allegedly linked to drug cases involving BIGBANG's G-Dragon and Parasite actor Lee Sun Kyun.
BTS' label, HYBE, had vehemently denied any connections between the group's artists and the establishment in question. In a statement, HYBE had emphasised that "BTS is completely unconnected to the relevant rumor, and [the rumor] is not true in the slightest. We will take strong action against the indiscriminate circulation of rumors."
The reemergence of Garosero Research Institute's allegations, this time involving Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron, has sparked widespread attention and concern regarding the spread of misinformation and the importance of verifying facts before sharing them.
