The Pongal holidays further boosted the film's performance. The film has achieved a significant milestone as it entered the Rs 50 crore club worldwide, making it the first Tamil film of 2024 to achieve this feat. Dhanush starrer which hit theaters on January 12, has demonstrated a commendable performance at the domestic box office. The film, directed by Arun Matheshwaran and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, had an opening collection of Rs 8.7 crore. Although it experienced a minor dips in its weekday-collections. On day 6, the initial estimates suggest that the film has garnered a net income of approximately Rs 3 crore. With a cumulative collection of Rs 38.43 crore over the first six days, 'Captain Miller' has maintained a strong presence at the box office. The film had an overall 23.68 per cent Tamil Occupancy on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. It will soon be crossing Rs 50 crore at domestic BO.

The movie, which features Dhanush, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, Shivarajkumar, and Edward Sonnenblick in key roles, is a big-budget Tamil action entertainer set in the 1930s-1940s in British India. The film follows an outlaw, Captain Miller, who engages in bloody loots, heists, and assaults.

Ayalaan secured a decent opening at the box office, starting with an opening day collection of Rs 3.45 crores. The film continued to gain momentum with Rs 4.85 crores on day 2, Rs 5.65 crores on day 3, and successfully navigating the critical Monday test during Pongal celebrations, securing Rs 6.62 crores. On day 5, the film minted Rs 6.60 crore and with another drop, on day 6, Ayalaan raked in Rs 5.50 crore, bringing its overall collection to Rs 33.10 crores. The film had an overall 47.03% Tamil Occupancy on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Directed by R Raviumar, 'Ayalaan' boasts a star-studded cast including Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Bhanupriya, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, and Bala Saravanan.
