In 2021, the Indian horror film, Chhorii, helmed by director Vishal Furia and backed by producers Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis, Shikhaa Sharma, and Shiv Chanana, captivated the audience with its impactful storytelling. However, in a surprising turn of events, makers announced the second installment of Chhorii, starring Nushrratt Bharuccha and Soha Ali Khan in lead roles.
Chhorii 2 On Prime Video
Prime Video announced on Instagram, “Sakshi races to save her daughter from an evil cult led by Pradhan Ji, battling societal superstitions and horrifying realities.#Chhorii2OnPrime #AreYouReady #PrimeVideoPresents.” Along with this the OTT platform also shared a fresh look of Nushrratt Bharuccha and Soha Ali Khan. The suo look intense in the new poster. While Nushrratt appears scared, Soha is donning a black-coloured outfit with a veil.
The movie ‘Chhorii’ garnered mostly unfavorable feedback from critics and mixed reactions from viewers. While many appreciated Nusrat Bharucha's acting skills, the horror scenes were often criticized for not meeting expectations. It is the Hindi remake of hit Marathi horror film Lapachhapi. In contrast to the trailer of the Marathi film, which suggests it draws inspiration from real-life events, ‘Chhorii’ does not make similar assertions.
'Chhorii' also represents the inaugural partnership between Abundantia Entertainment’s Psych, a division dedicated to horror and paranormal content, and the Los Angeles-based Crypt TV, renowned for its innovative and chilling productions such as "The Look-See," "The Birch," "Sunny Family Cult," and "The Thing in the Apartment."
Positioned as a horror film with a profound social message, "Chhorii" also boasts a talented ensemble cast, including actors Mita Vasisht, Rajesh Jais, and Saurabh Goyal, who play significant roles.
